This place is solid. I rent from California, I get quality gear, responsive customer service, and I like the pricing. They are small, but that means a nice lady calls you back if needed and you feel like they care about your business. Thanks crew.
These guys have a great operation. Ordered the rental items I needed in advance, then picked them up in the store right off the highway on our way to our destination. Was such a great idea that my associates also stopped and rented some camp chairs and other items like dehydrated food. Rental equipment was in good shape and quality. Staff was very helpful and friendly!
These guys are amazing! Great shop, selection and service.I was just passing through and needed a new stuff sack. They gave me one for free and let me hang out to charge my phone up before leaving. Most definitely the best place to go for camping equipment in Denver.
They were able to supply my family and I with a Yellowstone Camping Package with a day's notice. The equipment was so good I want to buy one of the Marmot halo tents myself back of Aus!
Rented a canvas tent and set up for a hunt and was great. Very friendly staff that took their time to help us get everything in and go through how to set everything up.
Outdoors Geek was great to work with! We rented a 3 person hiking package for our Teton Crest Trail experience. They gave us tons of guidance ahead of time figuring out what we needed and sent us videos explaining how to use equipment (JetBoil, Sawyer). They got our box of equipment to our hotel with plenty of time ahead of our trip so it was waiting for us when we arrived. They were understanding when we returned the tent wet after hiking through rain. Highly recommended!
From start to finish we had a wonderful experience with Outdoors Geek Gear Rental. Chelsea and my husband communicated via both phone and email to assure that we had all of the necessary camping gear for our trip to Big Bend National Park. We arranged for the gear to be shipped to our hotel, where we stayed the night that we arrived in Texas. They only charged us for the nights that we camped, which was a real bonus and testament to the excellent customer service. The gear had to be delivered on Friday because UPS didn't deliver on the weekend and we were camping from Monday to Thursday. The gear: We were nervous. And we are avid car campers. But every tent set up is different. That said... when we got to our camp site it was incredibly windy. We approached it with humor and used every single stake included! The tent held up well as we had a major windstorm that first night! The stove was easy to light with the igniter on the Eureka 2 burner stove. We didn't use the table or chairs, because they would have just blown away. The flashlights worked well although we did have to buy batteries for one of them. The soft cooler was a lifesaver! We cooked minimally on this trip but still used the pots and the pan. I can not neglect the fact that Outdoors Geek had the best of the best in regard for to a full size top quality air mattress and full size (think double bed size) sleeping bag so that we could snuggle together.Return was a breeze. We had to pack the gear in the box that it came in and use the UPS label that they included. We did have to buy packing tape. We found a UPS store / access point in a little town on our drive back to town. Dropped it off and that was it. Smooth process.Everything was clean. We will be using this company again for our next big camping adventure and highly recommend Outdoors Geek Gear Rental. THANKS CHELSEA!
I'm an outdoor professional, wilderness first responder, but not local to Colorado. This has been the best place for me to grab gear for others I bring along in the state -- A+ selection, maintenance and easiness of pick up/drop off
We rented an InReach Explorer for 2 weeks. It was in good, clean shape and worked as described. The people who work here are fantastic. Brett and Chelsea went above and beyond helping my school group extract important GPS data from the rental unit. Without their help, our international trip would have been a bust. My sincerest thanks to you!
I bought a very nice used shade tent from Outdoors Geek at a very good price. The “canvas” was in excellent condition. One of the poles had a small crack but the team at Outdoors Geek made it good. I will buy from them again and highly recommend.
I rent gear from Outdoors Geek all the time. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Brett has been extremely responsive with my many questions about their gear. Will definitely continue to rent from them.
The gear we rented was clean and in great shape. Staff was very helpful, knowledgeable and easy to communicate with. Chelsea even helped us pick a trail that was absolutely perfect for our 2 day backpacking trip! Would definitely rent from them again.
These folks are FANTASTIC! Ran into a bit of a snafu with our backpacking food shipment and they were able to ship us what we needed the same day so it would make it on time for our trip. THANK YOU OUTDOORS GEEK!
Tents and other gear to rent or buy, all very high quality. I rented a Marmot tent for over 2 weeks; even with shipping it was less than $200. This is a great place.
I've rented gear from here twice now, and have been very pleased both times. Prices are good and staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. I appreciate not having to deal with the hassle and expense of checking my gear when I fly.
Brett is the real MVP! I came to Denver right after the snow a few weeks ago and had no idea what supplies I needed to hike because I’m from Michigan. Brett not only helped me get the right gear, he gave me tips of things to pack. The weekend pick up was super easy. Highly recommend this place!!
Rented the Northface summit series sleeping bag with the Big Bertha pad for my Kilimanjaro treck. Recieved the rental on time. It was clean and well packaged. Definitelykept me nice and warm all the way to summit! Thank you!
I had a great experience renting gear from outdoors geek. Super easy process, great gear that allowed me to check out a national park without having to buy a bunch of gear I won’t use.
Before I planned our family trip to Yellowstone, I didn’t even know such a service existed! We were delighted with the service from beginning to end. We got the Yellowstone package which has a tent that fits the 8x8’ footprint limit that Grant Campground sets. All of the equipment (tent, chairs, table, cooking set, mattress pads, sleeping bags) were clean and in good condition. We bought our own propane and firewood, and brought cutting board, knife, and eating utensils. They provide a spatula and cooking spoon… I wish we had thought to pack our cooking tongs. We are not experienced campers so we appreciated that the tent came with instructions printed on the bag label. The cooking stove didn’t come with step by step instructions, so you may want to check that out before you end up in Yellowstone without cell service. The mattress pads do require inflating and they are very smooth - our campsite was bit totally flat, so we all slid off our mats the first night. We ended up packing our clothes around us to keep us on our mats! Try to find a level spot for your tent. Thank you to whoever suggested taking photos while unpacking the boxes - it wasn’t easy to Tetris everything back in. They mailed our package to the Jackson UPS, which charged us an additional $30 to store the 2 large boxes. They also gave us the return slips and plenty of time to return the equipment. Every email I sent received a response within an hour - super responsive! I highly recommend this service for anybody who doesn’t own their own camping equipment or doesn’t want to haul it to their destination. Thank you, Outdoors Geek for making our first Yellowstone camping experience a success!
Smooth and reasonably-priced equipment rentals. I was a little apprehensive about renting a sleeping bag (could be gross inside; you never know) but it was clean and had a distinctly neutral and inoffensive smell, which was far better than my own body's condition after the end of a whole day's hike. The packs, sleeping bags and pads my group rented was in good condition, with no notable signs of wear or damage. The shop itself is efficiently laid out and is a nice alternative to bigger stores for camping essentials. One thing to keep in mind is that pack rain covers are rented separately from backpacks, so be sure to get both if needed.
I rented equipment for a backpacking trip in Oregon. All the gear was shipped on time and was in excellent condition. Communication was prompt and friendly. No issues shipping it back to them. Would definitely rent again.
Rented the Winter Backpacking package with my girlfriend the other weekend for doing some backcountry camping at Rocky Mountain National Park. Super positive experience. Picking up the gear is easy, they have a drop box that you can pick the stuff afterhours. Gear is all name brand and well taken care of. Great communication and service. Highly recommend.
This place is great! I came here because I needed snow shoes and would rather rent from a small business than rei. It was super easy to reserve and pay online. I picked up within 30 min of reserving on a Friday afternoon. Got some quality snow shoes and poles for the whole weekend for a super reasonable price. Returning was super easy. Would definitely come back here!
