I rented the backpacking bundle for a 3 day trip this weekend. I requested the bundle for Thursday, it was slated to arrive Wednesday and it actually arrived Monday…from Colorado to Maryland. The equipment was spotless, and functioned exactly as expected. Over $1,000 worth of outdoor equipment for $225. I had a blast on the Appalachian Trail with this stuff!

The pack was excellent…great space and fit, was very comfortable. Overall the gear was in very good condition for “used”…the Outdoorsgeek has great equipment for whatever your adventure may be. Customer service is fantastic. Would definitely use again. Recommended them to my daughter who is finding her way to the outdoors in the Sierras!

I think that the overall package is great. I love the sleeping bag even though it was bulky. It took all of the space in the backpack but I found it very useful specially during the nights that it was extremely windy and cold. I ended up not bringing the tent with me as it not as light as I thought it would. The personal cooker – jetboil was also very helpful. One thing that I would say is that since I have not rented any of these items before nor I did any 2-3 days of hiking, I was expecting that all of the items would fit in the bag and are already arranged inside the backpack. When I got it, the items were unpacked and it took me a while to work on the packing. Overall, the items were great and the communication through email was clear and timely.

My son and I were extremely satisfied with the ultralight backpacking rental. The backpacks are comfortable, roomy, and very light. Great sleeping mats. The Jetboil stove does a fantastic job – super quick and uses very little fuel per boil. Sawyer water filter system is top notch. Delivery and return are easy. I couldn’t be more satisfied.

I’ve never been backpacking, but I got my first chance this summer. I wasn’t going to buy all the gear without at least trying backpacking once, so I looked for gear I could rent. I was so glad I found OutdoorsGeek! The process was easy to research, reserve, and confirm my rental. And, even more importantly, the gear was great. We did the Ultra-Light package x 4. OG has the top-of-the-line gear and it was essentially brand new. (I know the gear was great cuz I got feedback from my friends who are experienced backpackers.) I picked up my gear in person, since I live in Denver – the people who work there are great. We spent 4 days, 3 nights deep in the Colorado Wilderness.
Honestly, I don’t have time to write reviews, I wrote this one because my experience was awesome. I was kinda stressed out, trying something new, and needing gear for my whole family (4 of us). Everything worked out perfect. I just had to share – hopefully this helps someone trying to decide if OG is the way to go, and if the equipment is good and all of that. Look no further. These guys got you!

Great gear! Very pleased with this package, the quality of the gear and the service reserving, picking up and dropping off. Made for a wonderful overnight in the RMNP backcountry. Definitely the way to go if you don’t have all the equipment or need some more!

This was great for my first time backpacking (Comanche Peak Loop) – very light gear. The sleeping bag was super warm, the jet boil was quick and easy to use (make sure to get fuel), sleeping pad was compact, and the backpack itself fit perfectly. We did have about 12 hours of thunder and extreme downpour – our tent became less and less water resistant…but for such a lightweight set up, it makes sense that it falls more under water resistant than water proof. Overall, a great experience booking, picking up, and returning. Honestly a great set up for someone who may not be ready to commit to buying all of the gear (especially gear this high quality).

Was out in the backcountry for 3 days with my daughter, her first time. Great to be able to show her the ropes using quality gear! Not to mention having the loads be light so we could have our attention with the beauty all around and not so much on the stress and strain on the body. And all delivered on time and in great condition. Much appreciation to the OutdoorsGeek staff for assisting us with a fabulous adventure.

I rented this for a 3 day backpacking trip to Havasupai Falls and it exceeded all my expectations. The gear was extremely clean, very lightweight and high quality. The only issue I had was the chest strap on the backpack was missing when I picked it up, but luckily I noticed it before I departed for my trip and they acted swiftly to get me a new backpack. My whole experience was top tier and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who doesn’t want to commit to buying their own gear!

Totally worth it. Did a few days on Glacier NP and this set kept me warm, dry, and really well packed. The pack sat so well on my back that I barely noticed it. Totally worth it if you are just getting into long treks but don’t want to invest a bunch of money in ultralight gear. The team at OG we’re really helpful and communicated every step of the way so I knew my pack would arrive on time.

Outdoors Geek was very easy to work with and very responsive with any questions we had. The gear all worked well once we put it to use in the outdoors. Shipping to and from was hassle free. Would definitely use their services again and/or recommend to anyone looking to rent gear.

Outdoors Geek was incredibly responsive as I tried to find the right pack for my frame (6’7″), followed up with me, had the gear at my doorstep exactly when they said and provided a painless return process. My water filter bladder had a slight problem, but the backup worked great. I’ll probably be buying gear for more consistent use, BUT if you are casual hiker who won’t use it all the time (maybe 1-2x a year), then OG is the best.

Every piece of equipment in this package was very clean and in good shape. I’m not an experienced hiker but I noticed that these items were picked by experienced hikers as superior products. Everything was easy to set up and use. The shipping was handled perfectly. My gear arrived a few days ahead and it was very easy to return. When I emailed Outdoorsgeek, I got an immediate and helpful response. I definitely recommend this package, this organization and I plan to use them again! It would be a great way to try out expensive gear before buying!

This was the second time I rented equipment from OutdoorsGeek and everything was perfect! Easy to rent. Staff very helpful in answering questions ahead of time and helping to add a water bladder to my order which I had not originally done at time of booking equipment. Equipment arrived right on time at my specified location, two days before I was to leave on my trip, giving me plenty of time to become familiar with equipment and make sure it all was working properly. Equipment was first rate, in excellent condition, and made my trip very enjoyable. Return of equipment was very easy with the pre-printed shipping label and drop-off at a UPS store. Until, and if, I every purchase hiking or camping equipment, I will continue to use OutdoorsGeek for first rate gear!
