Autumn is the best time to go backpacking !

Why? Well, there are no bugs, The humidity is low and the crowds have finally gone away. Oh and of course the scenery, what would autumn be without the beautiful colors.  If you are new to backpacking in autumn you might want to consider this helpful tips.

– Consider the extra weight

A thicker sleeping bag and the extra clothing might make your bag heavier. Consider leaving your daypack home or getting a bigger backpack than your summer backpack.

– Right Sleeping Bag and Sleeping Pad

As the temperature drops you should consider something more in the range of a 15 degree sleeping bag. Insulated sleeping pads are a great option specially if you do your sleeping in a hammock.

– A Good Tent

As the temperature falls condensation starts to be a factor to consider when packing a tent. Make sure your tent has good air flow to avoid this inconvenience.

– Proper Lighting

In Autumn days start getting much shorter, so miscalculating your destination with daylight might occur. Make sure you have a headlamp in case this were to happen.
