Red Rock Canyon, BLM, Nevada
Our magical adventures carry us off to the majestic BLM land of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area just out side of Las Vegas, NV. I have been to the park many times, which is set up as a big loop with many places to stop along the way to take a hike or take in the beauty of the South West.
Fort Custer State Park, Michigan
One of my favorite parks to go to whenever I’m in the Michigan area is Fort Custer State Park. I have spent several sunny warm days hiking and riding the mountain bike trails through this state park. The state park features not only a modern campground with full...

Mt. Rainer National Park, Washington
When I was in Americorps*NCCC one of our assignments was to go to Mt. Rainer and evaluate their need to have a crew come do work for them. I feel in love with the park but have never had the chance to return. So this week lets virtual visit Mt. Rainer National Park.
Voyagers National Park, Minnesota
This week lets wander off to gorgeous Voyageurs National Park, near Duluth, MN. It is one of two or three Parks that I can think of that share the border between the United States and Canada. The Canada–United States border is the longest international border.
Purtis Creek State Park, Texas
Closing my eyes, I can imagine the native Americans that once roamed this area in Texas. Wichita and Caddo tribes at one time called this area home. There was good hunting and good fishing in the area and that eventually drew the white settlers into the area in the...
City of Rocks State Park, New Mexico
There are 7 hiking trails here at the Park. The longest of the hiking trails is the City of Rocks trail which is 6.4 miles long. It climbs a little over 500’ in elevation but is not that hard to do. There is a relatively new mountain biking trail at this State Park. This part of New Mexico has tons of mountain biking trails including the Gila National Forest area.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Lets virtually wander off to Great Smoky Mountains National Park which straddles the border between North Carolina and Tennessee. Its a georgouss park, but also the busiest hosting some 10.7 million vistors a year. As with any national park there are loads of things to do, hiking, camping, etc in and around the park.
