Last week we started a series of 5 blogs with important information about 5 of the best U.S. National Parks for camping. On our previous blog we spoke about the Glacier National Park in Montana. Today we are going to talk about the Grand Canyon National Park In Arizona.
Grand Canyon National Park
Eroded by the Colorado River and with an average deepness of 4,000 feet, this 277 mile canyon is considered a Geological Wonder. The deepest point of the Grand Canyon National Park is 6,000 feet, and the widest point is 15 miles.
But the Grand Canyon National Park is way bigger than the canyon itself, the park has a territory of 1,218,375 acres and is located on the Colorado Plateau in northwestern Arizona. In the park you can find a wide variety of plants with over 1,500 wild species, 355 birds, 89 mammals, 47 reptiles, 9 amphibians, and 17 fish species.
The Grand Canyon National Park is one of the most studied geological landscapes in the world, and it is a wonderful place for camping in the wild.
