Being able to avoid overpacking is extremely important for making your camping trip a big success story!
When you are camping with children, extra clothing and shoes seem to be a must, because after all, the point of being outside is to have the liberty of getting wet and dirty! But if you’re on a 10 day biking trip or a 4 day hiking expedition, every gram you pack must be there for a reason… We know this very well!
Before you panic, let us remind you of the easiest solution to your dilema: if there is no space for extra clothes, find fast drying, light clothes that you can wash in a lake or river, and an eco-friendly biodegradable soap. It won’t be as clean as it is at home, but you can always have a pair of “clothes for the dirty stuff” and then change into the warmer, cleaner clothes once you’re ready to settle back at camp. See? That was easy.
Don’t forget that warm clothing will be necessary, especially at night and in case it gets chilly where you’re going. A raincoat is always a good prevision, with the crazy weather changes, you never know when rain will pay your outdoor adventure a visit.
