Leave No Trace

The Center for Outdoor Ethics has developed a policy for teaching outdoor enthusiasts and amateurs alike how to take care of our environment. The Leave No Trace campaign is thinking of the generations behind us being able to enjoy the natural beauty in the same pristine state this generation fount it in. Our natural treasures have no other steward but us! If we don’t take the job of protecting our wildlife and natural landscapes seriously, no one else will.

Here are 7 Leave No Trace Principles:

  • Plan ahead and prepare.
  • Travel and camp on durable surfaces.
  • Dispose of waste properly.
  • Leave what you find.
  • Minimize campfire impacts.
  • Respect wildlife.
  • Be considerate of other visitors.

Backpacking and camping have exploded in popularity in the last decade. It’s up to each individual to make good decisions and practice good behavior while enjoying our wild lands.
