Today we celebrate the last of the 5 National Parks Camping Series blogs. In our previous blog we spoke about Yosemite National Park. Today we are going to talk about the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, in Tennessee and North Carolina.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee and North Carolina
With territory in Tennessee and North Carolina, this National Park has over 800 square miles and it is the home of over 17,000 different species; but according to scientific studies, an additional 30,000 to 80,000 species may live in this National Park. It is located specifically in the Appalachian Mountains, and it was created as an International Biosphere Reserve due to its unique natural resources. The mountains that compose the Great Smokey Mountains have more than 300 million years of age, and according to recent government reports, this is the most visited National Park in the United States.
