Bear Canister Rental

It’s true; a bear canister also is a safety item for bears. If bears find human food, they will come back to that site over and over until they are relocated or euthanized. Keep a bear safe, keep yourself safe, use a bear canister.

Excellent service and price for canister rental. Didn’t make any sense to buy 6 canisters, so the rental made our backpacking trip possible.b Thank you, Outdoors Geek!

Found this website from a random google search and it turned out to be perfect. Cheap rental for a bear canister for a week and all of the employees who helped me were really nice. I’d rent from them again for sure.

    Such a great place!

I have previously rented out of places that were more expensive and less efficient in the rental agreements. I loved that there was a range of days you can rent from, and the owners were super friendly and helpful.

Product preformed as expected, OutdoorsGeek exceeded expectations.

It’s a bear can and should do the job it’s designed to do, though fortunately I didn’t experience the need to test that. Intended to stop by Denver to drop Cans back off but wildfires would have caused a 9 hour detour on our way home. OutdoorsGeek kindly waived the late fees I would have incurred and allowed me to ship the cans from home. Would definitely rent from them again.

If there had been bears, they would have had a comfortable stool.

    Jesse Jade (verified owner)

We didn’t come across any bears, so I can not attest to its bear proof qualities. However, I did use this canister as a stool by the campfire, and it served that purpose well. Overall, would sit on again.

No problem with bears for the trip.

    AJ (verified owner)

Used this for about a week in the Roosevelt National Forest. The first night there our neighbors saw a bear at the entrance to the campgrounds, about a half mile down the road. We kept the can in the car most of the trip, except when out hiking.

    Bear Cannister Rental

Decided to rent bear Cannister instead of buying since we were from the east where they are rarely required. Worked perfectly, the first night a bear knocked them around a bit and they held up with only a few scuffs and no food was damaged. We finished our trip with no problems. Great price and decent product, I do wish they offered some lighter ones.

Glad to hear your bear canister held up to a bear. We do sell Ursack bear-proof bags that are much lighter weight. https://www.outdoorsgeek.com/product/ursack-major/ Please keep in mind not all wilderness areas have approved them and still require the hard-sided ‘heavier’ cans like the one you rented.

Easy to use, effective, and makes a decent table around camp.
